The provides players who are PC players an opportunity to experience the game with a bit more features & options than the. Even though was released on in August of 2016, there were still many players who were highly anticipating the game being released on Steam for PC.
Now that the game is released on PC, it will bring it a lot of those players who were waiting patiently as well as new players who don’t have a console (or that do but like to play fighters on PC instead). The game is currently at version 2.01. In this review, I will give my thoughts on how the Steam version has properly optimized & showcased the game’s graphics, gameplay, and the replay value of the game! GRAPHICS: In version 1.10 there was a very big update that increased & updated the game’s visuals. In the Steam version, the graphics have a very slick look & very fluid animation. You can also change the visual details in the graphics options if you feel that your graphics card can’t properly utilize certain functions for increased performance.
GAMEPLAY: Like with most KOF games, the gameplay is fun & easy to learn for beginners with the tutorial section. You can learn the basic gameplay mechanics that you will use as tools for battles both offensively and defensively. Training mode now has recording slots for different conditions that are now EXTREMELY helpful for intermediate players and expert players to constantly test new strategies, tactics, setups, situations & move properties: Online play from many players report that the netcode is superior to the version in terms of less delay/lag in between opponents.
For those that don’t know KoFXIV on steam has less input lag than PS4. Bad idea for offline practice.
Better for netplay, I guess. — KM Atma (@KMAtma) REPLAY VALUE & EXTRAS Things to keep players busy playing are extras unlocked by playing story mode (& other modes), a robust training mode, many different modes & options when playing online. A digital art book is featured in one of the folders the game is installed in: /Steam/steamapps/common/ Also, the game is being worked on constantly for balance updates, more possible DLC content & technical fixes for bugs, glitches & improved features! Which new DLC content would you like to see featured?
CRITICISMS One of the main criticisms many players & potential buyers feel at the moment is that the price of both the standard & deluxe version should be lowered for more people who aren’t fully committed & aren’t hardcore fans of King of Fighters to buy. Steam offers many sales throughout the year that lowers the price a considerable amount but many people feel the retail default price should be lowered. Another criticism players have expressed is that they feel the game’s graphical optimization (at it’s current state) should be improved or specified more in-depth regarding running the game on different kinds of PC hardware. Some players feel the game runs a little slow FPS-wise on certain stages that have lots of animations in the background. A fair amount of players feel that the game runs perfectly on their computer, however.
It might just be an issue of players not meeting the correct and exact PC specs or certain kinds of hardware aren’t running the game at it’s full potential. WHY SHOULD YOU BUY THIS GAME If you have the, with a good gaming PC, you should buy so you can expand your online player base with those who may not have a. If you have a gaming laptop that meets the requirements to run, you can play this game wherever you are!
If you have a PC & you love King of Fighters, you should definitely buy this game because the character roster is large & unique, the amount of content featured is impressive, the gameplay is fun, rewarding & welcoming for new players, & the online experience is one of the best among many fighting games released now!
I kinda feel the same. I bought it shortly after release and have gone through the tutorial too many times to count, and stopped playing right after. (Kinda the same w/ Persona 4A).
It just feels weird to me, the jumping in particular, having only come from SF and dabbling in KoF over the years. I still don't understand meter the systems yet. But I think it's more that the character designs never clicking with me kept me coming back, and having to start from ground zero. I can't get into fighters if I'm not into the characters. Maybe I'll give it a shot again tonight. It still bugs me that I don't understand the systems so that I can't really appreciate watching it at least.
(again same / Persona 4A). I think the only thing that needs to be addressed is the longevity of the game.
AE you can upgrade to Ultra for $15. I enjoy KOF being a pretty big SF fan and I own XIII on PS3. The reason I picked it up was for the Steam support and having it on my PC wherever I go. Which is the same reason I have AE on Steam too. I was just worried about traffic and servers being full. $10 isn't bad at all. My worst problem is I can play 94 and 96 and not worry about the extra features because it plays like a typical 2D fighter (with all due respect).
I moved to XIII and had a hard time with it. I'm personally hoping my execution is better. Its tough when you can't even get down how to chain combo off the bar in XIII and you've done those tutorials more than a few days and still fail. Thanks for posting the tutorials. Stopped playing it because its dead on PSN but I have a new PC now that won't die trying to run this so grabbed it.
Good lord it feels so good to play KOF on a keyboard again. Switched to pad for the console version a couple of years back and then played a little with a stick but it was never the same.
Even though I haven't played with a keyboard since then I was able to jump right in and do my Maxima BnBs and HD combo instantly. Feels so good. The only odd thing is that it won't let me set the alphabet keys as attack buttons, only the numbers etc.
